Belated Readathon With the Shortest Notice Possible

Ok, maybe not the shortest notice possible. Because it's not happening.....(counts to two) NOW. But in two (ish) weeks, I will be hosting a Belated Readathon For Those Who Forgot About the Last One or Were Out of Town or Slept Through it or Whatever. My co-host will be another Richmond book blogger of the literary persuasion- Brittney, from The Souls of Thought.

THE DEETS.
-The event starts at 7 a.m. on Saturday, December 3rd, and runs until 7 a.m. Sunday, December 4th. If you can't/don't want to participate for all 24 hours, you absolutely do not have to. I have a feeling I won't even do that, and I'm the one (co) hosting it. So. Also, we're in EST, but you can start at whatever time you want in your time zone.

-Brittney and I will be gathering at my house for the duration of our endurance, eating snacks and doing hourly updates on our respective blogs. You are not required to do hourly updates, or any updates, really. HOWEVER, I do encourage you to do some sort of updating so we know you're alive, and not buried under your TBR pile.

-In short, there aren't really any rules, but if you want an excuse to shove your kids/cat/homework into your closet/car/backpack and just read all day and night, I AM HERE! I AM YOUR EXCUSE PROVIDER!

It will be the fun. You will have this face: (click it, you won't regret it)

Wanna play? Sign Mr. Linky! This is the first time I've used this thing, so it may or may not work. Beware. *eyes you spookily* Also, the Linky SAYS you have to leave a comment after linking, but you don't actually have to leave a comment...unless you want to...or...whatever. OH if you don't have a blog and you want to play, leave a comment if the Linky thingy won't let you sign up without a URL. I'm still not really sure how it works. *confused face* *pokes Linky*

  1. I would love to participate but will have to wait for the next one.
As I'm in Paris while this one is on! ;-)
(I have this extreme need to inform everybody of my Paris trip)
    :-)

  2. This is so so tempting, I could catch up with all the reading I didn't do because of the cursed NaNoWriMo.... Oh, what the hell, I'm in! Possibly not for the full 24 hours, though!

  4. Stupid Mr. Linky with its required 'leave a comment' line.

Also RON DANCING IN A TINY HAT IS NEVER NOT APPROPRIATE.

  5. I had to bow out of the October one at the last minute so I am SO EXCITED about this! I have a family thing that night but hopefully will read for the rest of the day!

(Also, this gives me a great excuse to buy a lot of books at a used book sale that's this weekend...)

  6. I get to do something fun with you!! (Said in a sing song voice while doing a jig on the floor of my workplace, and then looking around to make sure no one saw). Ayway...amazingness is about to ensue. Snacks, books, snacks, books.

  8. I know I won't last 24 hours, and I *know* I won't start at five am my time, but I'm in! I haven't done a large chunk of reading since I finished my degree in September, so I think this will be good for me. Thanks for hosting this literary fun. :)

  9. Yes. I'm down. The day before is a grade-a-thon day for me, so I'll be down for some laying around and reading-ness.

  10. I'm in! Although I probably won't pull an all nighter (I drink) but will do some sort of readathon between the 3rd & 4th and will blog it. Plus it's my first time doing anything like this, so I don't know how disciplined I'll be. Or sober.

  11. Bummer, I'm out of town that weekend, but I hope you have fun.

p.s. Ron Swanson is just awesome.

  12. Joel is out of town that weekend so I am a single-person, PLUS Alice is doing it, PLUS Ron Swanson in a fascinator. I cannot fight this perfect storm of circumstances.

  13. Yay to all the people! Yay yay yay! Also, Ron Swanson in a fascinator is the secret ninja way to get anyone to do your bidding.

  18. I am excited for this readathon!! I did NaNoWriMo all month long and didn't read that much. (3 books all month. which makes me very sad). I can't contain my happiness of tucking into a huge stack of books! Yay!!

  19. I may or may not stay up the whole time, depending on whether or not there's anything else I have to do that weekend, but I'll be in for quite a few hours, at any rate! That's 6am Central, right? I think so. I guess that's not so bad... I'll probably get up for the beginning. :)

  20. I'm in. :) Except for a few hours in the middle to watch my team in the Big Ten Championship game, I have nothing going on.

    Thanks for hosting!
